Cimmes made from apples and rice is a traditional Jewish dish that combines the sweetness of fruits with the richness of rice. Historically, cimmes was prepared on festive days, especially during Jewish holidays, and was considered a symbol of abundance and joy. In this version, apples are gently stewed with raisins, acquiring a caramel hue, while the rice absorbs all the aromas, creating a delicate and harmonious texture. Lemon zest adds a fresh note, and butter gives the dish silkiness. Cimmes can be served hot as a cozy warming treat or cold as a refreshing dessert. This dish is perfect for those who appreciate the balance of sweetness and a light tartness that reveals depth of flavor.
