Finnish fish soup "Lohikeitto"

Finnish soup 'Lohikeitto' is the embodiment of northern culinary harmony. Its roots trace back to Scandinavian fishing traditions where fresh salmon, aromatic vegetables, and creamy textures create a unique flavor. The broth made from fish heads fills the dish with rich aroma while potatoes add softness. Sautéed onions and celery provide a light caramelized note, and dill and thyme finish it off with fresh herbal tones. The soup is velvety with a pleasant fish aftertaste, perfect for warming up on cold days. 'Lohikeitto' is traditionally served with rye bread, highlighting its Scandinavian character. It’s not just a dish but a cozy experience on a plate – the taste of nature, the sea, and home warmth.
