Bean stew is a hearty and aromatic dish of Russian cuisine, known for its simplicity and rich flavor. This soup combines the tenderness of pork, the sweetness of carrots, and the spiciness of onions, while green beans add freshness and a slight crunch. Potatoes make the stew thick and nutritious, and bay leaves and herbs add spicy notes to the aroma. Historically, such soups were prepared in rural homes where simple yet filling dishes were always valued to warm up during cold seasons. Beans serve as a source of plant protein, enriching the stew further, while adding sour cream gives it a creamy texture. This soup is perfect for a family lunch, providing comfort and warmth of traditional Russian cuisine.
