Tomato soup with rice is a traditional dish of Chinese cuisine that combines the tenderness of rice and the rich flavor of tomatoes. Its roots go back centuries when simple, accessible ingredients were used to create nourishing and warming dishes. The harmonious blend of meat broth, tomatoes, garlic, and herbs gives the soup a rich aroma, while rice makes it hearty and soft. This soup is perfect for a light lunch or a warming dinner. It has a pleasant sweet-sour note characteristic of Chinese cuisine and can be enhanced with fresh herbs or a splash of soy sauce for added flavor. Due to its simplicity in preparation, it has become popular not only in China but also beyond its borders, delighting Asian cuisine lovers worldwide.

1
Prepare meat broth in advance. It's better to make it salty right away.

2
Put the rice to boil.
- Rice: 1 glass

In a separate pot, boil tomatoes (preferably puree, not chunks), garlic (can be crushed or whole cloves), onion (whole), and herbs over medium heat. You can use herbs in two forms — fresh in a bunch (in this case, tie all the herbs together) or dried (about 2 pinches of each type).
- Canned tomatoes: 2 l
- Green: to taste

After 30 minutes, remove all whole ingredients, pour broth into the pot, add rice (without water), and cook for another 10 minutes (or until the rice is done).
