Lemon Basil Pesto
1 serving
15 minutes
Lemon basil pesto is an elegant reimagining of the classic Italian sauce, adding a refreshing citrus note. This aromatic sauce originates from Liguria, a region famous for its culinary traditions. Tender basil leaves are crushed with garlic and sea salt and then combined with pine nuts to create a velvety base. Parmesan adds richness while olive oil brings the texture to perfect creaminess. Pesto pairs beautifully with pasta, enhances the flavor of toast, and serves as an excellent marinade for fish or meat. Its fresh, slightly nutty taste with subtle lemon undertones makes it indispensable in summer cuisine. Try adding it to roasted vegetables or mixing it with yogurt for a sophisticated dip.
