Tomato salsa is a fragrant European sauce that combines fresh tomatoes, spicy chili, and aromatic basil. Its history dates back to medieval Europe when tomatoes began to gain popularity. This sauce has a rich, balanced flavor where the sweetness of tomatoes harmonizes with the heat of chili and the creaminess of butter. It pairs perfectly with meat, fish, pasta, or as a dip for fresh bread. Its thick consistency and rich taste make it a versatile addition to any dish, adding brightness and expressiveness.
