Sort the ripe cranberries, rinse them in cold water, and place them in a clean glass or earthenware jar.

To prepare the syrup, pour sugar into a pot, add 2 cups of water, add lemon zest, put on the heat, bring to a boil, strain, and cool. Pour the cold syrup over the lingonberries, cover the jar with parchment paper, and tie it with twine. Store the lingonberries in a cool place.
