Yogurt sauce with herbs is a light and refreshing sauce that perfectly complements European dishes. Its history traces back to the traditions of Mediterranean and Eastern European cuisines, where yogurt is often used as a base for sauces. The delicate taste of natural yogurt is softened by the freshness of lemon, while garlic adds a spiciness. Aromatic herbs like dill, parsley, and basil give the sauce a rich green hue and exquisite aroma. Nutmeg, salt, and pepper create a subtle balance of flavors. This sauce pairs well with meat, fish, vegetables or as a dressing for salads. Its simplicity in preparation and natural ingredients make it an excellent choice for healthy eating. Served chilled, it is especially refreshing on warm days.
