Garlic and salt croutons are a simple yet sophisticated snack from European cuisine. Their history dates back centuries when people sought ways to prolong the freshness of bread. The golden, crispy crust is infused with butter, while garlic adds a spicy sharpness that enhances the flavor. This snack pairs excellently with soups, salads, or as a standalone dish with beer and wine. The aroma of fresh bread, warmth of butter, and pungency of garlic make this recipe universal and beloved by many generations.

1
Cut the bread for sandwiches in half (you can also use a baguette). Heat the pan to medium temperature and place the pieces of bread on it. Add butter in small pieces to avoid greasiness. The bread should brown on both sides.
- Toast bread: 4 pieces
- Butter: 50 g
2
Rub the toasted bread with garlic and sprinkle with salt. Optionally, you can add grated cheese on top.
- Garlic: 2 cloves
