Sea salad with squid and shrimp

Seafood salad with squid and shrimp is an exquisite dish inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, where fresh seafood combines with juicy vegetables and tender avocado. This salad blends the tenderness of squid, the firmness of shrimp, and the refreshing lightness of greens. Cherry tomatoes add brightness, while lemon-olive dressing enhances the natural flavors of the ingredients, making it perfect for a summer dinner or festive gathering. Italians value simplicity and naturalness, and this salad is a great embodiment of their gastronomic philosophy. Each forkful fills you with the taste of the sea, a light tang of lemon, and the aroma of fresh oregano. The salad pairs wonderfully with white wine or sparkling drinks, creating a harmonious ensemble of flavors and enjoyment.

First, we prepare the squid and shrimp. If the squid is already cleaned, thaw it, dip it in hot but not boiling water for 10 seconds, and remove the protective film. Thaw the royal shrimp as well, cut along the back, and remove the intestine (the tails can be removed after boiling the shrimp).
- Squid: 3 pieces
- King Prawns: 300 g

After preparing the squid and shrimp - we boil them. Boil separately because squid needs to be cooked properly; if overcooked, they will be rubbery and tough. Place the squid in boiling salted water and reduce the heat. Boil the squid for 3-4 minutes on low heat; you can tell when it's done by eye—if it turns white, hold it for another 10 seconds and then remove with a slotted spoon to cool. Next are the shrimp. Place the shrimp in salted boiling water and cook for 5-10 minutes after boiling (I always cook by eye). After cooking, remove with a slotted spoon, clean off the tails, and cool.

After that, we cut the cherry tomatoes into 4 pieces. We peel the avocado, cut it in half vertically, twist the sides to separate it into two parts, and dice it. We wash the lettuce leaf, shake it off, and set it aside for later.
- Cherry tomatoes: 6 pieces
- Avocado: 1 piece
- Green salad: 4 pieces

Let's go back to squid and shrimp. There's nothing to do with shrimp, but squid needs to be cut, and how to cut it is a matter of taste. In rings, strips - at your discretion.

We take a bowl for the salad and add tomatoes, avocado, chopped shrimp, and squid, tearing in some lettuce leaves. We salt the salad to taste. In a small cup, we pour 4-5 tablespoons (to taste) of olive oil, squeeze in a lemon wedge, add salad seasoning (to taste), a bit of ground pepper, mix it all, and pour it over the salad. We mix a little more and finally sprinkle oregano, and you can also drizzle with citrus dressing for salads, but that’s also to taste.
