The 'Choriatiki' salad is a classic dish of Greek cuisine that reflects its simplicity, freshness, and rich flavor. Its origin is linked to the rural areas of Greece where locals prepared this salad from available seasonal ingredients. The base of the salad includes ripe tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers, sweet peppers, and aromatic onions that harmoniously combine with tender feta cheese and tangy olives. The dressing made from wine vinegar and olive oil enhances the freshness of the ingredients, giving the salad a rich, balanced taste. Oregano completes the composition by adding a subtle spicy note. 'Choriatiki' is perfect as a standalone dish or as a side to meat and fish. It is served chilled, making it an ideal choice on a hot day. The salad stands out not only for its taste but also for its health benefits due to its natural and wholesome ingredients.
