Savory pumpkin casserole with cheese is a bright and aromatic dish of Italian cuisine that combines the tenderness of pumpkin with the rich flavor of cheese. Historically, pumpkin has been widely used in Italian gastronomy due to its sweet flesh that harmonizes beautifully with herbs and spices. The casserole gains a special depth of flavor from sage and nutmeg, while garlic adds a piquant touch. It contains two types of cheese — soft Adyghe and rich hard cheese, which give the dish a creamy texture and appetizing crust. It can be served as a standalone dish or as a side to meat or fish. The taste is especially good when paired with fresh green salads and a glass of dry white wine.
