Keftedes Meatballs

Keftedes are traditional Greek meatballs, embodying Mediterranean cuisine with its rich aromas and fresh herbs. Historically, this dish was created as a simple and nutritious meal for Greek families, and today it is served in taverns across Greece. Tender ground beef mixed with onion and aromatic herbs gains a special flavor from fresh mint and basil that add lightness and freshness. Fried to a golden crust in fragrant olive oil, keftedes become appetizing and juicy. They are served hot, often with lemon juice, yogurt sauce or traditional sides like potatoes or crispy Greek bread. This dish is perfect for both a cozy home lunch and a lively gathering with friends.
