Canadian Pork Ribs

Canadian pork ribs are a true delight for meat lovers. Their history is rooted in North American barbecue traditions, where the combination of sweetness, tanginess, and spices creates a unique flavor. The marinade made from apple puree, ketchup, and soy sauce gives the meat tenderness and a rich aroma, while brown sugar caramelizes the surface of the ribs to form an appetizing glaze. The baking process makes the meat juicy and tender, and basting with sauce every 20-30 minutes adds depth to the flavor. This dish is perfect for a family dinner or a cozy evening with friends, especially when served with roasted vegetables or fresh herbs. Canadian ribs are a harmony of simplicity and gastronomic pleasure!

1
Prepare the marinade: mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
- Applesauce: 100 g
- Ketchup: 50 g
- Brown sugar: 3 tablespoons
- Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce: 3 tablespoons
- Ground black pepper: 0.5 teaspoon
- Ground dried garlic: 0.5 teaspoon
- Sweet paprika: 0.5 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon: 0.5 teaspoon
2
Cut the ribs so that there is one rib per serving. If the pieces are large and you will cook the meat in the oven, you can pre-boil them for 15-30 minutes. I didn't do this. Place the meat in the sauce, coat each piece well, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate.
- Pork ribs: 400 g
- Ketchup: 50 g
- Brown sugar: 3 tablespoons
- Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce: 3 tablespoons
- Ground black pepper: 0.5 teaspoon
- Ground dried garlic: 0.5 teaspoon
- Sweet paprika: 0.5 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon: 0.5 teaspoon
3
Place the ribs on a baking tray, cover with foil, and bake for one to one and a half hours at 220°C. If the meat releases too much juice, drain it.
4
Brush the ribs with the remaining sauce every 20-30 minutes. After 40 minutes, remove the foil and bake the meat until browned.
- Ketchup: 50 g
- Brown sugar: 3 tablespoons
- Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce: 3 tablespoons
- Ground black pepper: 0.5 teaspoon
- Ground dried garlic: 0.5 teaspoon
- Sweet paprika: 0.5 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon: 0.5 teaspoon
