Salmon in mustard-honey sauce

Salmon in mustard-honey sauce is a refined dish of European cuisine that combines the tenderness of red fish with the spiciness of hot mustard and the sweetness of honey. This marinade makes the fish especially juicy and aromatic, highlighting its natural flavor. The recipe has roots in classic French gastronomy, where sauces are traditionally used to add depth to fish flavors. Baking with a grill at the end adds light caramelization, making the texture even more appetizing. A side of broccoli, cauliflower, or rice perfectly complements the dish, creating a balance of flavors. This salmon preparation is suitable for both festive dinners and light everyday meals. Optionally, it can be drizzled with lemon juice to enhance freshness and emphasize the noble taste of red fish.

1
We are preparing the sauce. In a bowl, we put 3 tablespoons of mustard. The homemade 'Russian' mustard or another sufficiently spicy one is perfect for this dish. We add 3 teaspoons of honey to the mustard.
- Mustard: 3 tablespoons
- Honey: 3 teaspoons
2
We squeeze the garlic, add ½ tablespoon of salt and black pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly until a homogeneous mass. The sauce is ready.
- Garlic: 2 cloves
- Salt: pinch
- Ground black pepper: pinch
3
We lightly salt the red fish steaks and place them on a baking tray.
- Salmon: 4 pieces
4
Coat the fish with the prepared sauce on all sides. Leave the dish for 30 minutes. The fish should soak well.
- Mustard: 3 tablespoons
- Honey: 3 teaspoons
- Garlic: 2 cloves
- Salt: pinch
- Ground black pepper: pinch

We put the fish in the oven for 40 minutes at 180 degrees. At the end, if possible, we turn on the grill for 5 minutes.
