Beef in French

French-style beef is an elegant and aromatic dish that embodies the sophistication of French cuisine. Based on juicy ground beef, it is complemented by the tenderness of butter, the mild spiciness of shallots, and the subtle aroma of thyme. The finishing touch is a rich wine sauce that gives the patties a deep flavor with noble undertones. Historically, the dish resembles traditional French meat galettes, transforming everyday ground meat into something refined. It pairs perfectly with crispy baguettes or fluffy mashed potatoes, while fresh herbs add lightness to it. These are not just patties; they are a true culinary masterpiece.

Melt 2 tbsp of butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Peel and finely chop the onion and sauté for about 10 minutes until soft. Transfer the cooked onion to a large bowl and set aside. When the onion cools slightly, add the minced meat, thyme leaves, lightly beaten egg, and 2 tbsp of butter. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well. Divide the mixture into 6 equal parts and shape into 6 patties. Place flour in a shallow bowl and coat the patties in it, shaking off excess.
