Rustic stew is a hearty and aromatic dish from Russian village cuisine. Its roots lie in the traditions of peasant food, where meals needed to be nutritious, simple to prepare, and accessible. The base of the stew consists of potatoes fried to a golden crust and then mixed with tender meat soaked in rich juice. Fatty lamb adds a special depth of flavor, while onion, garlic, and dill provide fresh notes and an appetizing aroma. This dish is perfect for a cozy family dinner or outdoor meals when you crave something homey and warming. It is best served with chopped parsley that adds freshness and completes the rich palette of flavors.
