Baked Spaghetti Squash

60 minutes
Spaghetti squash is an unusual type of pumpkin, when cooked the pulp forms into threads similar to the pasta of the same name. The pumpkin itself looks completely unpretentious, it can easily be confused with an ordinary squash from the garden, but it is easy to determine that it is a pumpkin by its thick rind.

1
Cut the pumpkin lengthwise into two halves using a large knife.
2
Remove the seeds and discard them, they won't be needed.
3
Grease the inside of the pumpkin with spices and salt, adding a few pieces of butter (or olive or vegetable oil) depending on the size of the pumpkin.

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Place the halved pumpkin on a baking sheet. Then roast the pumpkin in the oven for about 45-50 minutes, until a fork easily goes into the pumpkin. If the dish starts to dry out, add some oil.
- Butter: to taste
5
Remove the pumpkin from the oven and let it cool for 3-4 minutes. Then scrape the flesh with a fork to create a noodle-like texture; you can leave it in the pumpkin shell instead of transferring it to a plate. Add cheese, dried garlic, and a bit of flavored olive oil. Spaghetti squash is ready to eat.
