Cooking in a multicooker. This reduces cooking time since the peas do not need to be soaked beforehand. If you don't have one, don't cry. See the instructions below. So, we sort and rinse the peas (yellow or green).

Chop the onion and carrot into small cubes. Cut the smoked brisket into small cubes similarly. The brisket can be replaced with cured fish, prosciutto, etc.

Set the multicooker to the 'FRY' mode, type 'MEAT' for 15 minutes. Pour in a couple of tablespoons of oil and heat it up. Add the vegetables and sauté them. After about seven minutes, add the smoked ingredients. Five minutes before finishing, add minced garlic. Turn off the multicooker. Transfer the sauté to a bowl.

Add peas and pour water over them. The water level should be 2 fingers above the peas. Add salt and spices (pepper, khmeli-suneli). Close the multicooker. Set the 'STEWING' mode for 2 hours.

At this time, we make croutons. We fry pieces of bread in a heated pan on both sides. We cut them into small cubes.
