Stuffed peppers in the oven

Stuffed peppers in the oven are one of the most popular and delicious dishes of Bulgarian cuisine. This dish combines the juiciness of sweet Bulgarian peppers, the richness of minced meat, and the tenderness of melted cheese. Historically, peppers began to be stuffed in the Middle Ages when cooks sought new ways to prepare meat and vegetables. The dish has a pleasant balance of flavors: the sweet pepper softens the richness of the filling, while baked tomatoes add a slight tanginess. Oven-baked peppers retain their juiciness and acquire an appetizing golden crust. They can be served as a main dish with a side of rice or young potatoes or as a standalone treat perfect for a cozy family dinner.
