Pollock stewed with mayonnaise is a classic dish of Russian cuisine that combines the tenderness of fish with the rich creamy texture of the sauce. With its delicate flavor, pollock absorbs the aromas of the ingredients beautifully, creating a harmonious balance. The history of the dish goes back to home cooking where simple products are transformed into comforting and warming food. Mayonnaise adds softness and richness to the fish while onion contributes a sweet depth. Fried pieces of pollock soak up the fragrant sauce and stewing makes them especially juicy. The dish pairs well with classic mashed potatoes or buckwheat but can also be enjoyed simply with bread to soak up the tender sauce. It is a cozy and simple meal that warms the soul and evokes memories of family dinners.
