Sweet Potato Sesame Balls

60 minutes
Sweet potato-sesame balls are a traditional treat of Chinese cuisine, combining the tenderness of mashed potatoes with the nutty aroma of roasted sesame. These crispy on the outside and soft on the inside balls amaze with their flavor harmony: the light sweetness of sugar intertwines with the warm, slightly earthy notes of sesame. They are often made at home for celebrations, served hot and optionally dusted with powdered sugar for added elegance. With their crunchy crust and airy texture inside, they are perfect for tea parties or as an unusual dessert. This recipe is a wonderful way to enjoy the simple yet refined flavors of Asian cuisine.
