Baked chicken in mustard sauce

Baked chicken in mustard sauce is an exquisite dish of Chinese cuisine that combines spiciness, a slight tang, and rich aroma. Mustard paired with soy sauce creates a savory, rich glaze that turns into an appetizing crust when baked. Garlic adds sharpness, while vinegar enhances the flavor, making it more expressive. The origins of this recipe trace back to the traditions of Chinese gastronomy, where marinades play a key role in revealing the meat's taste. The dish is perfect for a festive dinner or family gathering, and its simplicity makes it accessible even for novice cooks.

1
First, we prepare the sauce: finely chop the garlic (2-3 heads). In one container, mix mustard, soy sauce, garlic, and vinegar. You can add spices to taste (I sometimes add coriander), but it's best not to add salt due to the soy sauce.
- Garlic: 2 cloves
- Mustard: 1.5 tablespoon
- Soy sauce: 200 ml
- Vinegar: 1 teaspoon
2
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. If necessary, gut the chicken and place it on a baking tray (to make it look more appetizing when baked, I tie its legs with skin). Pour the sauce over the chicken so that it covers all areas.
- Chicken: 1 piece
- Mustard: 1.5 tablespoon
- Soy sauce: 200 ml
- Garlic: 2 cloves
- Vinegar: 1 teaspoon

We put the chicken in the oven for 40 minutes, then flip it and put it back in the oven for another 40 minutes.
