Dumpling casserole is a resourceful and hearty dish of Russian cuisine that transforms ordinary dumplings into a delicious baked variation. The origins of this cooking method can be found in traditional home experiments where leftover dumplings were turned into a new hot dish. The casserole captivates with its tender texture: juicy dumplings soaked in an airy egg-mayonnaise sauce form a fragrant base, while the baked cheese gives the dish an appetizing crust. A light hint of caramelized onion adds depth to the flavor. This versatile dish is suitable for both family dinners and festive gatherings, and its simplicity in preparation makes it a favorite recipe for many homemakers.
