Chicken with dried fruits

Chicken with dried fruits is one of the most aromatic dishes of Azerbaijani cuisine, infused with Eastern traditions. Tender chicken meat soaked in the sweetness of apricots and prunes acquires a rich, intense flavor with subtle nutty notes of almonds. Thanks to prolonged simmering in a pressure cooker or pot, the chicken becomes soft and literally melts in the mouth. The dish's hallmark is the perfect balance of sweet and salty, making it suitable for both festive dinners and family lunches. Prunes with pits add a delicate woody aroma to the dish, while spices enhance its depth. Served hot, traditionally accompanied by rice or fresh bread, making the meal especially cozy and satisfying.

1
Cut the chicken into portion pieces or take ready-made chicken legs with thighs. Fry them in a hot pan with vegetable oil until lightly crispy.
- Chicken: 1 kg
- Vegetable oil: 30 ml
2
Place the chicken in a pressure cooker or large pot, add dried fruits and almonds, season with salt and pepper to taste, and pour in enough water to cover the pieces. If you want the meat to be sweeter, you can add more prunes. It's better to use prunes with pits, as they give a very pleasant nutty aroma.
