Chakhokhbili from beef

Chakhokhbili is a fragrant dish from Georgian cuisine that combines rich meat notes with vibrant tomato and spicy undertones. Originally made with chicken, variations using beef became popular over time due to their depth of flavor and richness. Juicy pieces of beef are sautéed without oil to allow the natural aroma of the meat to unfold. Onions stewed with the meat add a sweet softness, while tomatoes, garlic, and bell peppers create a harmonious sour-spicy composition. Fresh herbs like cilantro, basil, parsley, and thyme finish the dish with a zesty freshness. Chakhokhbili pairs excellently with Georgian lavash or fragrant rice and is perfect for leisurely family dinners when one wants to enjoy true Caucasian hospitality.
