Apple-Mint Iced Tea

Apple-mint iced tea is a refreshing drink with a refined balance of sweetness and spice. The origins of this tea trace back to European traditions of creating fruit beverages that help cool off in warm weather. Apple juice provides a soft fruity base, while ginger adds a light spiciness that awakens the flavor. Black tea enhances the depth, and fresh mint offers coolness. This tea is perfect for summer evenings, picnics, or simply to treat yourself to something special. It can be served over ice, garnished with mint leaves to emphasize freshness. Delicate, aromatic, and slightly spicy - it pairs wonderfully with light desserts or fruits.

1
Mix apple juice, powdered sugar, and 2 cups of cold water in a pot over low heat.
- Apple juice: 1 l
- Powdered sugar: 0.5 glass
2
Stir for 3-4 minutes until the powdered sugar dissolves. This is stated in the standard recipe, but I recommend adding sugar at the end to avoid it being too sweet. However, you can also skip the sugar altogether.
3
Add ginger, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Ginger root: 70 g
4
Remove from heat, add tea and mint, let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Black leaf tea: 1 teaspoon
- Fresh mint: 17 g
5
Pour into a pitcher (straining), cover, and refrigerate overnight or until completely chilled.
6
Serve with ice and mint leaves.
- Fresh mint: 17 g
