Homemade espresso with spices

Homemade espresso with spices is a refined drink that combines the rich flavor of strong coffee with the warm spiciness of Eastern spices. This recipe is inspired by the traditions of flavored coffee popular in Eastern countries, where spices add depth and richness to the taste. Ginger adds a slight sharpness, nutmeg contributes warm woody notes, and anise provides a subtle sweet-spicy hint. Brewed in a moka pot, this espresso reveals layered aromas, while added honey softens its taste, making the drink harmonious. Such coffee is perfect for cozy home evenings or leisurely morning rituals.

1
Mix ground coffee with spices and fill the filter of the moka geyser coffee maker.
- Ground coffee: 36 g
- Ground ginger: 5 g
- Ground nutmeg: 3 g
- Ground anise (star anise): 3 g
2
Pour the required amount of water into the lower reservoir, insert the coffee filter, carefully screw on the top part of the coffee maker, and place it on low heat.
3
When steam starts coming out of the spout, carefully open the lid. If the coffee splatters too much, reduce the heat. When the coffee starts flowing calmly into the reservoir, open the lid.
4
Wait for all the water in the lower reservoir to rise up as coffee. Then remove from heat and pour into heated espresso cups. Optionally, add a little honey.
- Transparent honey: to taste
