Today's classic Sazerac is made with cognac and whiskey, although for a time in New Orleans, the birthplace of the cocktail, it was made only with whiskey, and with cognac - by special request. So the "Golden Sazerac " can be considered the New Orleans version.

Fill the glass with crushed ice, pour in absinthe. Rinse the glass, let it sit for a bit, and discard the ice.
- Absinthe: 10 ml

Mix the remaining ingredients for thirty seconds in a mixing glass and pour into a serving glass.
- Scotch blended whiskey: 40 ml
- Green Herbal Liqueur: 20 ml
- Bitter: 1 ml
- Sugar syrup: 10 ml
- Angostura: 1 ml

Run an orange peel around the rim of the glass and garnish the cocktail with it.
