The full name of this cocktail is Barnum Was Right. Phineas Taylor Barnum, an American entrepreneur and hoaxer, an unrivaled master of deception, is credited with the phrase "There's a sucker born every minute." This has to do with the cocktail: it's not much different from the Aviation and the Pegu Club, and when a newbie orders a Barnum and expects a new, unusual taste, this is exactly the phrase he remembers.
