One of the predecessors of the modern Martini: in the 1880s, this cocktail was called both the Martini and the Peat Club. Both versions contained more sweet vermouth than gin, our version is more modern.

    Pour gin, vermouth, liqueur, and bitters into a mixing glass filled with ice.
