Regan compote is a refined refreshing drink that impresses with its bright color and rich aroma. Regan, or red basil, adds subtle spicy notes to the compote, creating a harmonious balance between sweetness and the slight acidity of lemon juice. This drink not only quenches thirst but also has beneficial properties since basil is known for its antioxidant and calming qualities. In Europe, such drinks are often prepared in summer to enjoy their cooling effect. The compote is served well-chilled and garnished with basil leaves, making it not only tasty but also aesthetically pleasing. This elegant drink is perfect for a light summer dinner or a festive table.
