New Year's mulled wine with spices and gin is a fragrant warming drink that transports us to the cozy atmosphere of winter holidays. Its history roots back to European traditions when wine with spices was used for warmth in cold months. The rich flavor of the drink unfolds through the combination of red dry wine, sweet demerara sugar, warm notes of cinnamon and nutmeg, the freshness of orange, and a spicy hint of bay leaf. Gin adds additional depth with a light bitterness. Mulled wine is perfect for festive evenings by the fireplace, friendly gatherings, and cozy winter get-togethers. Serve it hot in mugs and enjoy its rich, spicy, and slightly citrusy taste that warms from within.
