Cherry syrup kissel is a classic drink of Russian cuisine infused with the aroma of juicy cherries. Its history traces back to ancient traditions when kissel was prepared as a nourishing and warming dish. The taste of this dessert is delicate and velvety with a pleasant tartness harmoniously softened by the sweetness of sugar. Citric acid adds a subtle refreshing note, while potato starch gives it a thick and silky consistency. Kissel is perfect as an independent drink or as an accompaniment to desserts like cottage cheese casseroles or pancakes. It is easy to prepare and can be enjoyed hot or chilled. Cherry kissel brings comfort and the taste of childhood in every spoonful.
