An excellent reminder to all of us that kissel is not only fresh or frozen berries, but also dried ones. It is especially pleasant to cook this in the middle of winter, when a handful of nondescript berries turns into a completely summery dish.

Soak washed dried blueberries (or dried rose hips) in 2 cups of cold water and boil for 15-20 minutes.

After straining the liquid, the berries are well mashed, then 1 cup of water is added, boiled, and strained into the pot with the broth.

Then add sugar, bring to a boil again, and pour in the diluted potato starch.
