French toast croque-madame and croque-monsieur are elegant dishes born in the cozy cafes of Paris in the early 20th century. They are characterized by a rich creamy flavor with a tangy note of Dijon mustard and a delicate texture of melted cheese. Croque-monsieur is a refined sandwich with ham and cheese baked to a golden crust, while croque-madame is additionally topped with a fluffy fried egg, adding even more softness to the dish. These toasts are perfect for a hearty breakfast or light lunch, and their exquisite taste makes them favorites among food lovers worldwide.
