Garlic for winter is a traditional way to store the aromatic ingredient used in Russian cuisine. Freezing preserves its rich flavor and beneficial properties, making it convenient for adding to various dishes. Chopped garlic, portioned with herbs, paprika, or on its own, turns into handy slices that are easy to cut and use as needed. This method not only saves time in cooking but also adds extra depth of flavor to dishes. Garlic can be added to soups, sauces, marinades or used in meat and vegetable dishes. Its rich aroma softens after freezing, making it ideal for various culinary experiments. The simplicity of preparation and convenience of storage make this recipe an excellent way to prepare garlic for the winter season.

1
Take garlic, cut off the root part and separate the cloves. Then crush them with the flat side of a knife, peel off the skin, and place them in a bowl.
- Garlic: 2 kg

2
Chop the peeled garlic with an immersion blender until smooth.

3
The next step is to divide the resulting mixture into three equal parts. Add 2 tablespoons of chopped dill with parsley to one part and mix thoroughly.
- Green: 2 bunchs

4
Add 2 tablespoons of ground paprika to the second part and mix thoroughly. Leave the third portion of garlic puree without any additions.
- Ground paprika: 2 tablespoons

5
Next, transfer the garlic mass into a plastic bag, release the air, and form a layer about one centimeter thick. Press the layer with a cutting board on top to make its surface even. Then carefully transfer the bag onto the board and place it in the freezer until fully frozen.

6
Do the same procedure with garlic puree with greens and ground paprika.

7
Remove the garlic bags from the freezer. As a result, you will get dense layers of garlic.

8
Cut the packages, take out the frozen items, and place them on the cutting board.

9
Take a clove of garlic and cut it into random strips or cubes. This clove is very easy to cut. Cut the garlic with greens and ground paprika in the same way.

10
Transfer the sliced garlic cloves to a container, close the lid, and place it in the freezer for storage. It's easiest to store such freezing in a container: nothing sticks or breaks.
