The 'Ant Hill' cake is one of the most beloved homemade desserts in Russian cuisine. Its unusual shape resembles a forest ant hill, hence the name. The recipe's origins date back to the Soviet era when housewives created surprisingly delicious treats from simple and accessible ingredients. Crispy pieces of baked dough soaked in sweet condensed milk and complemented with nuts create a delightful combination of textures — tender, crumbly, and caramel-nutty. The poppy seeds sprinkled on the cake give it a finished and refined look. This dessert does not require complex cooking techniques but impresses with its rich flavor. 'Ant Hill' is perfect for cozy family evenings, festive tea parties, and simply for sweet joys. With each bite, it brings warmth of home and memories of childhood.
