Nut muffins are a refined delicacy of European cuisine that combines a tender dough structure with crunchy pieces of walnuts. Their history begins in the traditional pastries of Western Europe, where nuts symbolize abundance and the warmth of home. The flavor of the muffins is rich, slightly creamy, with pleasant caramel notes of sugar and a light tartness from currant jam. This dessert is perfect for morning coffee or a cozy family tea time. Currant jam not only adds a beautiful hue to the dough but also a rich berry aroma that unfolds during baking. The simplicity of preparation makes this recipe accessible even for novice cooks, while the variety of ingredients allows for experimentation with add-ins to create new flavor accents.
