Wheat yeast bread in a multicooker

10 servings

120 minutes

Wheat yeast bread in a multicooker is a cozy symbol of home warmth and traditional Russian cuisine. Its history dates back to ancient recipes when housewives baked bread in ovens following age-old traditions. This bread has a soft and airy texture with a thin golden crust and a delicate wheat flavor complemented by light sweetness and subtle yeast notes. It is versatile – perfectly pairs with both butter and honey as well as savory snacks. Thanks to the multicooker, the cooking process becomes convenient, and the bread always turns out magnificent. A great choice for family breakfast or cozy tea time!

Cooking steps
  • 1

Dissolve the yeast in warm water (milk), add sugar and salt. Mix well. Optionally, you can add two to three tablespoons of vegetable oil to the dough. Gradually add flour and knead a soft, elastic dough. The dough should not stick to your hands.

    Required ingredients:
    1. Dry yeast10 g
    2. Water0.5 l
    3. Sugar1 tablespoon
    4. Salt1 tablespoon
    5. Vegetable oil2 tablespoons
    6. Wheat flour800 g
  • 2

Cover the dough with a towel and place it in a warm place for an hour.

  • 3

The dough should rise and increase in volume by two to three times.

  • 4

After proofing, we knead the dough again and form a ball, placing this 'ball' in a greased bowl of the multicooker, turning on the heating for 10-15 minutes. Then we turn off the multicooker and let the bread rise (40-50 minutes is enough). It usually rises to the last marks 8-9 for me. It's best not to keep it longer as it will press hard against the lid of the multicooker.

  • 5

Bake white bread in the multicooker on the 'baking' mode for 60 minutes on one side.

  • 6

Then GENTLY flip the bread and set it for another 40 minutes on 'bake'. It's best to flip the bread using a large towel; wrap the bowl with the towel and turn it over onto the table. If you want a browner crust, you can bake longer: 60+40 minutes on one side and 30 minutes on the other (this is advice for those with a Panasonic multicooker).

  • 7

Carefully remove the finished bread from the multicooker and let it cool completely.
