Cheese and cottage cheese pastries are a delicate and crispy treat inspired by Italian culinary traditions. Italians are famous for their cheesy delicacies, and this recipe beautifully combines the creamy texture of cottage cheese with the rich flavor of cheese. The perfectly balanced dough baked to a golden crust encases a fragrant filling, making the pastries appetizing and rich. They can be served as an appetizer, a side dish for lunch, or a light snack. The flavor is especially pronounced when warm—the soft cottage cheese and melted cheese create an irresistible harmony. They also pair excellently with tomato sauce or fresh herbs that highlight their Mediterranean notes. These pastries are true comfort in every bite, perfect for both friendly gatherings and family dinners.

1
Thaw the puff pastry, roll it out, and cut it into 8 equal squares. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- Yeast-free puff pastry: 500 g
2
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese, cheese, egg, and salt (add salt to taste, depending on the saltiness of the cheese). If mixing with a mixer, do not mix for long to avoid making the mixture liquid.
- Cheese: 250 g
- Cottage cheese: 250 g
- Chicken egg: 1 piece
- Salt: to taste
3
Place the filling on the prepared squares. Fold the squares into envelopes and seal the edges well.
