Sesame cookie 'Kosichka' is a fragile and aromatic treat that captivates with its delicate taste and texture. The origins of this recipe trace back to Russian cuisine, where baking has always held a special place at the family table. The main highlight of the cookie is its braided shape, reminiscent of a braid, symbolizing cozy home traditions. Sesame adds a nutty flavor to the pastry, while powdered sugar completes the taste harmony with a gentle sweetness. The cookie pairs perfectly with tea or coffee and can be served as a festive treat or used as an everyday dessert. Its simplicity in preparation and exquisite taste make it a favorite choice for those who appreciate homemade baking.

1
Melt butter or margarine in a water bath.
- Butter: 250 g
2
Whisk the eggs into a foam, mix with the cooled butter mixture.
- Chicken egg: 3 pieces
3
Mix sesame and other dry ingredients in a bowl, then pour the mixture with eggs and oil.
- White sesame seeds: 0.5 glass
- Sugar: 100 g
- Vanilla: to taste
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
- Wheat flour: 500 g
4
Knead a soft dough. It won't stick to your hands because it will be oily enough, no more flour is needed.
5
You can put the dough in the fridge for 20 minutes, but I don't do that because the dough will stick to the table, and I'll have to use flour, making the cookies denser.
6
Cut a piece of dough, roll it to a thickness of 0.5 cm, cut into even strips about 5 cm wide, then cut the strips into three parts without cutting all the way through. This creates three strands to braid. Cut the long braid into short pieces by simply slicing them; they won't unravel.
7
Place the braids on a baking sheet (no need to grease it). It won't hurt to line it with parchment paper, as it will absorb the oil that comes out during baking.
8
Bake the cookies for 15-20 minutes at 190 degrees. Sprinkle the finished cookies with powdered sugar.
- Powdered sugar: to taste
