Homemade scones are a fragrant treat with roots in European cuisine but especially popular in Russian tradition. These tender cottage cheese pastries with a golden crust and sweet taste combine airy dough and a soft, slightly vanilla filling. Their history dates back to when baked goods with cottage cheese were considered not only tasty but also healthy. Scones are perfect for cozy family tea gatherings, and their sweet flavor harmonizes well with both hot drinks and cool milk. The dough is soft and slightly crumbly, while the filling is delicate and moist, creating a unique combination of textures. They can be served as a standalone treat or complemented with fruits and honey for special enjoyment.
