Belgian waffles with ice cream and whipped cream

They are called Belgian in Russia, but in their homeland, the thick rectangular waffles with a large cell are known as gaufres de Bruxelles - "goffers from Brussels". In consistency, they resemble donuts and are baked from a fairly liquid dough with yeast or baking powder. Deep square cells easily hold any topping, so Belgian waffles are never served "naked", but are decorated with strawberries, whipped cream, ice cream and chocolate.

Turn on the waffle maker.

Cream the butter with powdered sugar.
- Butter: 200 g
- Powdered sugar: 100 g

Add eggs and milk to this mixture. Mix gently.
- Chicken egg: 3 pieces
- Milk: 250 ml

Gradually add the sifted flour, baking powder, lemon juice, and vanilla. Mix everything until smooth.
- Wheat flour: 350 g
- Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
- Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon
- Vanilla: to taste

Bake for 7–10 minutes. About 3 tablespoons per waffle.

Place a scoop of ice cream on the warm waffle.
- Ice cream: to taste

Garnish with mint leaves and whipped cream.
