Chocolate peanut butter sandwich cookies are a true anthem of American cuisine. This dessert combines two iconic flavors: rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter, creating the perfect harmony of sweetness and nutty depth. The crunchy cookie, coated in chocolate and sprinkled with nuts, delivers a rich taste complemented by the soft and creamy peanut butter inside. The sandwiches are not only delicious but also convenient to serve — easy to take along or give as a gift. The history of such desserts stems from Americans' love for peanut butter, which has become a national pride. These cookies are an ideal choice for family gatherings, holidays, or simply moments when you want to treat yourself to something special.

1
Combine all ingredients for the cookies in a large bowl and mix with the mixer’s spiral attachments until smooth. Place the dough in the refrigerator for 2 hours until it can be shaped into balls.
- Wheat flour: 0.8 glass
- Sugar: 0.5 glass
- Butter: 70 g
- Cocoa: 0.7 glass
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
- Soda: 0.8 teaspoon
- Milk: 2 tablespoons
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
2
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Shape the dough into balls with a diameter of 2 cm. Place them on a dry baking sheet with plenty of space between them. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, transfer to a rack, and cool completely.
3
Melt chocolate and shortening in the microwave for one minute, stirring to dissolve all lumps. Use a spoon to coat the cookie halves with chocolate, sprinkle with nuts. Place on parchment and let the chocolate set. Don't overdo the fat, or the chocolate won't set and will stick to your hands.
- Dark chocolate: 1 piece
- Vegetable oil: 1 teaspoon
- Nuts: to taste
4
When the chocolate cools down, spread peanut butter on one half of the cookie, cover it with the other half (chocolate side out), and stick the halves together.
- Peanut butter: 1 glass
