Potato pancakes with onions are a simple yet incredibly delicious dish of Russian cuisine. The roots of the recipe go back centuries when potatoes became a staple of peasant food. The pancakes turn golden brown, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the aroma of fried onions adds a special zest. A sour cream sauce rich in herbs and a hint of tomato acidity complements the flavor, giving the dish freshness and harmony. These pancakes are perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner and also serve as an appetizer on festive tables. They can be served with salty or sweet toppings to enhance and diversify the taste.
