Apple Cake

Apple cake is a delightful dessert with deep roots in European cuisine. Its base consists of caramelized apples that give the cake a rich fruity flavor with a slight tartness, complemented by the sweetness of caramel and the aroma of cinnamon. Prepared using this recipe, it resembles the famous French tarte Tatin, where apples are caramelized in butter and sugar to create a golden, rich texture. This cake is perfect for cozy family evenings, especially in cooler seasons when one craves something warm and fragrant. It is served upside down, revealing a glazed layer of caramelized apples. It can be enhanced with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or delicate whipped cream to make the flavor even more exquisite.

1
Remove the core from the apples and cut them in half.
- Green apples: 1.5 kg
2
Melt butter with sugar in a pan and boil until the sugar turns into a thick brown syrup. Then arrange the apples in a circle in the pan — tightly, half to half. Sprinkle with cinnamon and fry on low heat for half an hour until the apples caramelize. Let cool — this will take a few hours, flip onto a plate so the dark caramelized bottom is on top — and serve.
- Butter: 100 g
- Sugar: 200 g
- Cinnamon: pinch
