Popovers with lemon and black pepper

Lemon and black pepper popovers are airy rolls from American cuisine, originating from Yorkshire pudding. However, their unique aroma and flavor with hints of lemon and spicy pepper make them special. These popovers have a light and crispy crust, while the inside is soft and porous, perfectly pairing with butter or honey. Lemon zest adds freshness to the batter, while black pepper adds an unexpected spiciness, making them suitable for both breakfast and elegant dinners. They can be served as a standalone snack or as an accompaniment to soups and salads. They are easy to prepare but require precision to achieve the perfect airy effect.
