Berry tartlets are an exquisite dessert from European cuisine that captivates with its lightness and elegance. The crispy shortcrust pastry made with fragrant lemon zest and vanillin creates the perfect base for a delicate filling. Berries—strawberries, raspberries, or grapes—offer freshness and natural sweetness, while hot marmalade covers them with a glossy glaze that enhances the flavor. The finishing touch is a sprinkle of chopped nuts or almonds, adding a light crunchy texture. These tartlets are suitable for special occasions and pair wonderfully with a cup of aromatic coffee or light fruit wine. They embody the harmony of simplicity and sophistication, making each bite a delight.

1
Mix flour and sugar, add butter or margarine in pieces, eggs (reserve the egg white from one egg for brushing), vanilla or finely grated lemon zest, and knead the dough. Roll the dough into a ball, cover it, and let it rest in a cool place for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Wheat flour: 2 glasss
- Butter: 150 g
- Sugar: 0.8 glass
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
- Vanillin: 0.3 teaspoon
2
Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/2 cm, cut out circles slightly larger than the metal tartlet mold. Place the dough circle on the mold and press down, then trim the edges, transfer the molds with the dough to a baking sheet or pan, and place in the oven to bake for 12-15 minutes.
3
Remove the ready baskets from the molds by inverting them, then fill them with berries — strawberries, raspberries, or grapes, and pour hot marmalade on top with a spoon. The baskets can be decorated with chopped nuts or lightly toasted almonds.
