Charlotte is a classic German dessert with an amazing combination of airy dough and tender apples. Its history dates back to the 18th century when this pie became popular among European nobility. In its original version, it is made with egg yolks, sugar, and wheat flour, creating a light texture that harmoniously complements sweet, slightly caramelized apples. Charlotte is perfect for a cozy tea time or as a delicate dessert after lunch. Its softness and aroma filled with the warmth of baked fruits make it a favorite treat in many families. The best way to enjoy this pie is to serve it slightly warm, possibly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or gentle whipped cream.
